FLUID BY MEGAN HOPE

Fluid Pottery is small business focused on creating primarily hand crafted ceramic pieces. Handmade items are carefully crafted with New Zealand Clay within small batches, from unique platters, small funky art pieces and yoni bowls. Fluid is without a definition to Megan, they best describe it as a moving and growing business that is in a constant state of movement, with random learning curves and creative outbursts. Megan is a passionate artist focused on self-love, body diversity, and anything cat related.

Megan Hope:

“My ceramics are built from New Zealand clay, either by hand or thrown on my vintage kick-wheel. I have just acquired an electric wheel which I need to fix, however there is something romantic about a kick wheel. My pieces are carefully hand-built or thrown after preparing clay, then bisque fired after drying for a week or two, and finally glazed and painted for a second kiln fire. All items are ready to shine after up to almost 1-2 months in production in my home studio.

I’m inspired to create pieces that make us feel special, because we are.

All my pieces will be all different in their own little ways. Perfectly imperfect!”

“Throughout my artistic journey within Fluid, I do my absolute best to support other local business, to shop sustainably, lift up the rainbow community, and re-use and recycle as best as possible. Community over competition.”

"Besides the wonderful support of Fluid Pottery’s wife Nicky, Fluid Pottery is run and owned by one person, Megan Hope. A fluid person with mixed feelings and a bucket of creative energy. Based in Christchurch NZ, you can find Megan carefully and recklessly crafting pieces to share. One day they hope to show you their fine art and sculptures created from memories and past journeys.

“Dream big and enjoy” - Megan Hope.
